Mike Uchrin is an accomplished senior executive, recently having led the growth of Health Choice, the managed care and insurance business unit of private equity sponsored IASIS Healthcare (recently acquired by Steward Health Care) from a small Arizona Medicaid plan into a robust regional managed care organization operating 5 health plans and two accountable care networks. Under Mike’s leadership, Health Choice grew to more than 650,000 distinct Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial members through its health plans, integrated delivery networks, and managed care solutions for self-insured employers. More specifically, Mike focused significantly on the development of physician-led clinically integrated networks whose primary care, specialists, and hospital affiliates lowered costs and improved quality outcomes for Medicaid, Medicare, commercial, and self-insured individuals through a comprehensive MSO platform that included extensive care management, quality, and member engagement services.  Prior to becoming the President and Chief Executive Officer of Health Choice in 2012, Mike served as the Chief Operating Officer beginning in 2006, and as the Chief Information Officer in 2005. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in GeoPhysics from The University of Arizona as well as a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Engineering in Software from Arizona State University.

Senator William H. Frist M.D.

Senator Frist is a leading authority on healthcare and former U.S. Senate Majority Leader.  He is a co-founder and partner at Frist Cressey Ventures.  Dr. Frist resides on the fund's Investment Committee and is responsible for acquisition, divestitures and providing unique value to the fund's partnerships. Senator Frist served two terms as a United States Senator representing Tennessee, serving as Majority Leader from 2003 until his retirement in 2007. His leadership was instrumental in the passage of the 2003 Medicare Modernization Act and the historic PEPFAR legislation that provided life-saving treatment globally to over 12 million people.  Prior to the Senate, Dr. Frist founded the Vanderbilt Multi-Organ Transplant Center and has performed more than 150 heart and lung transplant procedures.  His current board service includes Select Medical (NYSE: SEM), AECOM (NYSE: ACM), Teladoc (NYSE: TDOC), Aspire Health, Aegis Sciences, Accolade, Kaiser Family Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Bipartisan Policy Center, and Nashville Health Care Council. Senator Frist received his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and holds a B.A. from Princeton University. 

Raymond Hakim M.D. PH.D.

Dr. Raymond Hakim is a nationally recognized Nephrologist who is also currently a clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Hakim was the Chief Medical Officer and Senior Executive Vice President, Clinical and Scientific Affairs for Fresenius Medical Services until December 2011.   He started his career as an engineer graduating from MIT and worked as a research engineer until he was accepted into medical school.  He has been a faculty member of Harvard and Brigham  and Women’s Hospital in Boston before joining the faculty at Vanderbilt in 1987 where he was the Director of the Clinical Division of Nephrology as well as Medical Director of Vanderbilt Dialysis. He has done internationally recognized research in the areas of dialysis and the care of dialysis patients.

In 1995, Dr. Hakim became one of the founders of Renal Care group which in 2005 had the lowest mortality and morbidity rate among other dialysis providers as published by the USRDS.    He attributes this success to a team effort in applying the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement throughout the organization. 

Through Dr. Hakim’s 190 publications as well as many past and current presentations, he educates many faculty as well as Nephrologists practicing nationally regarding the treatment of kidney disease. Dr. Hakim received many national and international awards in recognition of his dedication to improving the outcomes of patients with CKD and ESRD.

Christopher A. Booker
Co-Founder and Director

 

Christopher Booker is a successful venture capital investor and joined Frist Cressey Ventures as a partner in 2016.  Mr. Booker leads the firm's investment team, serves on the fund's Investment Committee, and is responsible for acquisition, divestitures, and providing unique value to the fund's partnerships. Mr. Booker has been an investor and/or served on the board of several leading enterprises including:  ProiverTrust, NContracts, Criterion Holdings Corporation, Woodland Street Partners, Stratasan, Paragon Group, and FCV's partnerships. In addition to his responsibilities at FCV, he is an active board member to nonprofit organizations in the Nashville area.  Prior to joining FCV, Mr. Booker was a partner at XMi Holdings, Inc. managing their investment funds and President of XMi Capital where he participated in over 50 transactions.  While at XMi Holdings, he was CFO and served as a director to healthcare services firm Criterion Holdings Corporation, Inc. Criterion grew from 3 employees to nearly 600 before being acquired in 2016.  Mr. Booker is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Engineering and Economics.

Geoff Moe M.B.A.
VP Medical Economics & Risk

 

Geoff Moe, has over  10 years of experience leading managed care organizations through high growth and change.  Most recently he was engaged at Oak Street Health, a private equity backed risk based PCP organization, as VP Medical Economics. During his tenure there he was responsible for building both the capability and business rules in order to supply analytics, including AI and predictive modeling, that has allowed Oak Street Health to assume medical claims risk from Health Plans.  Other career experience has included CenterLight HealthCare as VP Reporting, Analytics, and Medical Economics, and WellMed Medical Management as Director of Operations, after starting on the analysis team at Family Physician’s Group (FPG) in Orlando, FL.  Geoff’s career has been spent building; whether it is data warehouses; market operations, or new reporting functions and capabilities.  Thriving in high growth organizations, Geoff’s career has given him a unique perspective of managing and navigating barriers found in the transition from Fee for Service to Value Based Care.  Geoff received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University as well as his COHORT Master of Business Administration from University of Central Florida.
